Business Support Officer:

We are looking for a Business Support Officer, preferably with previous experience in a similar environment to join our team.

Cheerful and compassionate by nature, you will possess sound judgement, initiative and problem-solving abilities and be able to pay attention to the details. With support from the management team, you will have a commitment to quality along with a genuine interest in our client group.

You will have good communication skills and telephone manner, be computer proficient, be organised and dynamic, and work well under pressure in a busy environment. The Business Support Officer is usually the first person to whom residents and visitors will turn for information. A respectful and courteous attitude to seniors is required, and weekend availability is essential.

Our home is located in central Gloucester and provides 24-hour residential, and dementia care for up to 102 elderly residents. We are committed to providing a homely and safe, sustainable environment in which Service Users and Staff achieve their optimum state of health and wellbeing.

The Business Support Officer will be expected to have the ability to perform the following duties, among others;

  • To present a professional image through person-to-person and telephone interaction with Residents, Visitors and Professionals
  • To screen telephone enquiries and take messages where appropriate
  • Carry out receptionist duties, greeting visitors, managing staff enquiries
  • Support all departments with their administrative tasks such as word processing, spreadsheets, audits filing, entering data on various systems, recording petty cash spends etc .
  • Take enquiries and log them in the home enquiry system
  • Support the Home Services Manager with administrative tasks .
  • Desirable (but not essential) – experience entering data People Planner rostering system

Working Hours: between 8 am and 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am til 5pm on Saturday and Sunday (alternate weekends with day(s) off in the week).

Full time contract: 30 to 40 hours per week

Pay Scale: from £10.05 per hour dependent on experience

Successful appointments are subject to satisfactory references and a CRB check, and candidates must be authorised to work in the EU.

Everyone working in care homes to be fully vaccinated under new law to protect residents

People working in CQC-registered care homes will need to be fully COVID-19 vaccinated with both doses.

Care home residents will be better protected from death and serious illness, following confirmation people working in care homes will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The new legislation means from October – subject to Parliamentary approval and a subsequent 16-week grace period – anyone working in a CQC-registered care home in England for residents requiring nursing or personal care must have 2 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine unless they have a medical exemption.

It will apply to all workers employed directly by the care home or care home provider (on a full-time or part-time basis), those employed by an agency and deployed by the care home, and volunteers deployed in the care home.
