Care Assistant

Job Type:

£9 - £15 Per Hour

At Greenwood Home Care we respect and value our staff and that is why our Care Assistants are happy. This is because we know that working as a Care Assistant is such an important role in the local community – it is because of you that the people we support start and end the day with a smile on their face.

Why we stand out:

What makes us stand out is how we support our Care Assistants. We appreciate our Care Assistants and we never forget to acknowledge the amazing work you do in your community and we understand our Carers better than most – because all of the staff, including the Director and the Manager, deliver care. We are a home care provider that stays in touch with its staff.

Our Registered Manager- who we see as the Mother Hen in the company, is friendly and professional and has an open door policy, whether that be to discuss anything at work or perhaps if you just need a friendly ear.

What we do:

The people we support mean a lot to us and the way we support them is by providing a little bit of extra help in the community on a daily basis. This includes companionship, food preparation, help with medication, trips out, helping people start their day and being a friendly face to have a cup of tea with and share stories – just like you would with your own family.

Our focus is on what we can do to make sure someone enjoys each day as much as possible.

Here is how we support/reward our Care Assistants:

  • £8.50 base rate
  • £9 per hour on weekends
  • £14.80 on bank holidays
  • Mileage contribution
  • Mobile phone provided
  • 28 days paid holiday (to spend in Peterborough or abroad!)
  • And not to mention a Massive Christmas party
  • We want you to progress and enjoy your work so we provide the best training and support possible. This means that you do not have to be experienced as we can train you to become a Super Care Assistant.
  • Part time / full time
  • Comfy sofa in the office to relax, have a cuppa and a biscuit (and maybe some cake!)

If you are new to care then don’t worry. We have a well-designed training and support program in place to make sure you are confident in what you do with lots of support over the phone and out in the community.

We find that people from Teaching Assistant, Hairdresser, Nursery Assistant, Charity or Volunteering backgrounds make great carers – so if that’s you then please get in touch.

Some of our Care Assistants have been with us from the first day we opened our business. If you would like to join a company that values its Care Assistants and changes people’s lives every day, then please click the apply button and send us your CV.

Our friendly Recruitment team will then be in touch to say hello!
