Care Assistant

Job Type:

Permanent

Salary:

So why do Care Assistants choose to work for Q Care? It’s simple – we look after our Care Assistants and we value the incredible support they provide to their local community; it is because of you that our customers have a smile on their face.

We listen to our staff and value their feedback so every Wednesday our Manager has a ‘Walk in Wednesday’ to catch up with our Care Assistants. Whether this is just to say hello, to share some positive news or to address any concerns whether they be personal or professional, there is always a friendly ear ready to listen.

We are a flexible employer and understand that everyone has different circumstances – if you are looking for part time or full time work we can accommodate your needs, if you are a driver without a car – don’t worry! We provide you with cars that are fully insured.

Our office dynamic is where we truly stand out. We are a friendly and fun bunch to work with. Our Care Assistants really do become part of our family and that’s why we have 2 who have been with us for over 19 years and 8 Care Assistants who have been there for over 5 years! This may or may not have something to do with our resident shopaholic Lisa who is always looking to doll the staff up in her new purchases!

We also like to run competitions for our staff to win hampers (including our colouring and best Xmas jumper competition) and we get involved in lots of Charity days including pyjama days and coffee and cake mornings.

We operate throughout Abergavenny, Gilwern, Govilon, Chepstow, Caldicot, Brecon and Crickhowell and here is how we support/reward our Care Assistants:

  • Hourly rate weekdays £7.83
  • Hourly rate weekends £8.33
  • Bank holiday up to £11.75
  • Christmas Presents/ Easter Eggs/ Cards & vouchers for your birthday
  • Paid travel between calls (you’re never out of pocket!)
  • Guaranteed hours (optional)
  • 12p mileage reimbursement (when using own car)
  • Company mobile phone
  • Paid uniform, paid training & shadowing
  • Part time / full time
  • Open door policy – we always want you to come in and say hello over a cuppa!

The people we support mean a lot to us and the way we support them is by providing a little bit of extra help in the community on a daily basis. This includes companionship, food preparation, help with medication, trips out, helping people start their day and being a friendly face to have a cup of tea with and share stories – just like you would with your own family. Our focus is on what we can do to make sure someone enjoys each day as much as possible and that’s where our Care Assistants are truly remarkable.

No experience? No worries – Q Care offers a paid induction training programme, we have been in the business for 25 years and have acquired the best knowledge there is. We will train you to the highest standards and to be the best that you can be!

Our team have a mix of skills and varying backgrounds which include Teaching Assistant, Hair Dresser, Nursery Assistant, Retail assistants, Charity or Volunteering ……….. therefore just because you haven't done it before doesn’t mean you wont be great!
