Care Assistant

Job Type:

£9 Per Hour

At Cairllum Care we respect and value our staff and that is why our Care Assistants are happy. This is because we know that working as a Care Assistant is such an important role in the local community – it is because of you that the people we support start and end the day with a smile on their face.

Why we stand out:

What makes us stand out is how we support our Care Assistants. We appreciate our Care Assistants and we never forget to acknowledge the amazing work you do in your community and we understand our Carers better than most – because all of the staff, including the Manager, deliver care. We are a home care provider that stays in touch with its staff.

Our Registered Manager (who started as a Care Assistant in the company) has an open door policy for all of our Care Assistants and that’s why we have multiple staff who have been working as a Carer for us for over 6 years!

We have a great sense of community in the business – we provide gifts for staff to say thank you for all their hard work, we get involved in lots of fundraising and because we understand that our Care Assistants form an amazing relationships with our customers, we are always looking for ways to involve them in wider social events, such as our Xmas lunch and our annual dinner dance awards which are run by Scottish Care.

What we do:

The people we support mean a lot to us and the way we support them is by providing a little bit of extra help in the community on a daily basis. This includes companionship, food preparation, help with medication, trips out, helping people start their day and being a friendly face to have a cup of tea with and share stories – just like you would with your own family.

Our focus is on what we can do to make sure someone enjoys each day as much as possible.

Here is how we support/reward our Care Assistants:

  • £8.75 per hour
  • Paid training
  • Uniforms and PPE provided
  • We want you to progress and enjoy your work so we provide the best training and support possible. This means that you do not have to be experienced as we can train you to become a Super Care Assistant.
  • Part time / full time hours available.
  • Comfy sofa area in the office to relax, have a cuppa and a biscuit (and maybe some cake!)
  • Parking on site

If you are new to care then don’t worry. We have a well-designed training and support program in place to make sure you are confident in what you do with lots of support over the phone and out in the community.

We find that people from Teaching Assistant, Hairdresser, Nursery Assistant, Charity or Volunteering backgrounds make great carers – so if that’s you then please get in touch.
