Companionship is our biggest focus at Home Instead. The reason people love working as a Care Assistant is simple – it’s through the relationships you form with the people in your community. With 2019 on the horizon, now is the time to start thinking about change, about a new direction with a company that values its Care Assistants and its Clients.

As companionship is such an important element of the care we deliver, it is a chance for anyone with a kind nature (with a bit of spare time on their hands) to meet and engage with your local community – learning about their lives and getting to know the people you support, like any friend or family member would. This is the reason why all of our visits are a minimum of 1 hour – we give you time to care!

We match up our Clients with our Care Assistants based on shared interests. If you love to bake, then get baking with our clients! Whatever your passion, share it with someone in your local community!

Our Client approach is very person centred, but so is our approach to our Care Assistants. Our Care Assistants stay with us for a long time (we have 3 who have been with us for over 7 years!) and our management team started as Care Assistants, so they understand the role and always have an open door.

Most importantly, we have fun and we enjoy each other’s company! Recently we had a competition between the office staff which ended up in Cowboy themed ‘horse race’ in the car park – You’ll have to apply to find out what we used as horses! We also have a dedicated tea and biscuit trolley to ensure you are always hydrated and well stocked with biscuits when you are in the office!

What we offer our Care Assistants:

  • Minimum client visit time 1 hour
  • £8.70 weekdays
  • £9.20 weekends
  • £17.40 on bank holidays
  • Full training and consistent support
  • Mileage paid at 28p per mile

Our Trainer is one of our most popular figures in the business. Loved by all because of her amazing knowledge of care, training skills and most importantly her friendly approach to learning about care. We excel in helping people start a new career in care – so it doesn’t matter if you haven’t had any experience yet! For existing Care Assistants, we will help you refine your skills and offer new learning and development opportunities, if it is something you are interested in.
