Care Assistant

Job Type:

£9 - £18 Per Hour £8.70 -£18

At Bluebird Care our Care Assistants have one thing in common, they are all very happy!  So how do we do this? Well it’s simple – we value and respect all of our Care Assistants and provide a friendly, supportive and professional environment for you to do one important thing – put a smile on the faces of the people who make up your community. We treat our customers like family; we laugh, we share, we engage and we provide that extra bit of support, just like you would with any family member.

From Care Assistant Cream Cake Wednesdays (Yes every Wednesday there is cream cakes!) to flowers and bonuses when you go above and beyond and our famous Carer Survival Kit (you will have to apply to find out what it contains!) – we are a company that people enjoy working for!

Our customers are also at the heart of our business and we will be looking to put more focus on social inclusion, with trips to the zoo and a variety of different types of days out. We are proud to support our local community and we truly embody the idea of person centred care and that is the reason why all of our visits are a minimum of 30 minutes – we give you time to care.

The people we support mean a lot to us and the way we support them is by providing a little bit of extra help in the community on a daily basis. This includes companionship, food preparation, help with medication, trips out, helping people start their day and being a friendly face to have a cup of tea with and share stories – just like you would with your own family.

Here is how we support/reward our Care Assistants:

  • £8.70 p/h weekdays
  • £9 p/h weekends
  • £18 p/h bank holidays
  • Guaranteed hours for those interested
  • 30p mileage
  • Paid Training
  • Mobile phone and uniform included
  • Carer Survival kit
  • Carer of the month & Carer of the year (voted by our customers)
  • Xmas parties you actually want to go to, buffets, drink, games and questionable karaoke!
  • Birthday & Xmas cards + gifts

If you are new to care then don’t worry. We have a well-designed training and support program in place to make sure you are confident in what you do with lots of support over the phone and out in the community.  We have an open-door policy for our Care Assistants and an incredibly well led and supportive management and training team who are always available to help you and listen to your ideas and feedback.

We find that people from Teaching Assistant, Hair Dresser, Nursery Assistant, Charity or Volunteering backgrounds make great carers – so if that’s you then please get in touch.

Some of our Care Assistants have been with us from the first day we opened our business. If you would like to join a company that values its staff and changes people’s lives every day, then please click the apply button and send us your CV. Our friendly Recruitment team will then be in touch to say hello!
